Gree Electronics has invented drunk mode for smartphones. This is reported by the publication MyDrivers.
The corresponding application appeared on the website of the Chinese Patent Office. According to the documentation, the “drunk mode” of a smartphone can protect the user from performing certain operations with the device while the owner of the device is in a state of alcoholic intoxication. For example, from sending SMS, performing transactions through banking applications or other services, the use of which can cause some damage to the owner of the smartphone.
Judging by the description of the invention, the “drunk mode” is manually activated by the user. After turning it on, the phone blocks some functions that the owner of the device preselects. To turn off the mode, you need to pass a certain “sobriety” test.
The journalists noted that the new mode could be based on a modified user interface. Similar modified add-ons are used in their smartphones, in particular, by Huawei, Samsung and Xiaomi.
The authors concluded that Gree is a little-known brand that doesn't specialize in smartphones. As such, it is unlikely that “drunk mode” will be used in any phones anytime soon.
