A netizen posted a photo of her Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro / 9 Pro Max on fire (the exact model is unclear). Xiaomi replied to this that external influences were the cause of the incident.
The woman reportedly bought a smartphone in December 2020 for her brother. According to users, the device began to smoke for no apparent reason. When the woman's brother saw this, he tried to put out the smartphone with water. The device was severely damaged. The photograph shows that there is almost no “living” place left on it. However, there is good news – none of the people were injured in the incident.
Under a tweet from a woman, Xiaomi support replied that the fire was caused by external factors.
This is not the first time Xiaomi smartphones have caught fire. Recently, an Indian user complained that his Xiaomi Poco X3 exploded while charging.
