Smartphone sales have grown sharply in Russia
In the third quarter of 2021, smartphone sales increased by 30% compared to the previous three months, Kommersant reports.
In the third quarter of this year, 8.4 million phones were sold. Mobile Research Group analyst Eldar Murtazin said that the residents of Russia most actively bought gadgets of the middle price segment – costing 15-20 thousand rubles.
“Russians are increasingly choosing smartphones of the middle and high segments, hoping that they will last longer,” said Denis Kuskov, CEO of Telecom Daily.
According to experts, the growth in sales is associated with social payments at the end of summer – for children, pensioners and the military, as well as with the beginning of the school year and the appearance of new gadgets on the market.
Earlier, Sergey Kuzmenko, a senior specialist in testing digital products of Roskachestvo, said that improper disposal of an old smartphone could result in a fine.
