UNAS carriers strive to abolish the "transport visa-free regime".

Presidium of the Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia (UNAS ) announced the continuation of the protest at the Vyshne Nemetske-Uzhgorod border crossing.

This is stated in the UNAS Facebook post.

According to the carriers, the blockade will begin on Monday, December 11 from 15:00.

“Entry into the territory of the Slovak Republic for cargo transportation will be blocked. Personal transport will not be restricted in any way,” the carriers said.

The Presidium made this decision based on an assessment of the information received and its impact on the road transport market in Slovakia.

The Presidium of the Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia joined the protests organized in Poland in November.

UNAS carriers are seeking to abolish the “transport visa-free” regime in force between the European Union and Ukraine from July 1, 2023.

According to blockers, this visa-free regime has led to a significant increase in competition from Ukrainian carriers offering lower prices for transportation.

Recall that the strikers of Slovakia thanked the Minister of Transport Josef Raz for violating the problem of the abolition of the permit system for Ukrainian carriers and its impact on the road transport of Slovakia in Brussels.

And December 5 traffic for trucks through the checkpoint “Vishne Nemetskoe” , adjacent to the Ukrainian checkpoint “Uzhgorod”, which is on the border with Slovakia, has already been unlocked.
