The Finnish Prime Minister believes that Europe should continue its ambitious military support for Ukraine.

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo assures that his country feels safe because it is well prepared for various scenarios in connection with possible Russian aggression.

He spoke about this on Friday, January 19, at a press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson

“In Finland we sleep well at night, we are well prepared. However, all EU and NATO countries must also be prepared for all possible scenarios,” he said.

< p>Prime Minister Orpo also stressed that Europe must continue its ambitious military support for Ukraine. He also noted that a decision on the planned economic support package for Ukraine must be made quickly.

“We also need to increase the capacity of the European defense industry and increase the production of ammunition,” the Finnish Prime Minister emphasized.

The head of the Finnish government believes that investments in European security should be key in EU programs for 2024-2029.

Recall that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin accused NATO of “dragging” Finland into the Alliance and promised to send Russian troops to the border with this country.
