Sky has secured the broadcasting rights for the North American ice hockey league NHL for Austria for four years.
The pay TV channel Sky will broadcast around 300 games per season from the season beginning on October 12th until 2024/25, Sky announced on Thursday. The games are broadcast with the original English commentary, selected games are also accompanied by German commentary.
This means that the two Austrians Michael Raffl (Dallas Stars) and Marco Rossi (Minnesota Wild) can also be seen live in Austria. Sky starts with two games on the night of October 12th to 13th. Defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning receives the Pittsburgh Penguins (1.30 a.m.), then (4.00 a.m.) the Seattle Kraken make their NHL debut against the Vegas Golden Knights.
