Six skunks were born at once in the Yekaterinburg zoo

Six striped skunks were born at the Yekaterinburg Zoo. The employees of the institution gave them the names Miron, Muffin, Moby, Margot, Mona and Maggie, according to the Internet portal E1.

Experts said that these animals begin to open their eyes only two weeks after birth. And when they are one month old, they learn to take a defensive posture and raise their tail. It is under it that the scent glands are located, emitting an intolerable stench, similar to the smell of rotten eggs.

According to the zoo staff, the cubs are very curious and actively explore their enclosure. Their mother, Molly, is keeping a close eye on the newborns. If she senses danger, she instantly grabs the kids by the scruff of the neck and runs for cover.

Earlier it was reported that a pair of red-handed tamarins Ygritte and Marik first had cubs at the Leningrad Zoo. This is the first offspring for a pair of marmoset monkeys. While they are in hidden aviaries, so that visitors are not distracted.
