Why the alarm will sound in Kyiv
In the Desnyansky district, from 9 am on February 28 until the evening of March 1, they will test an updated emergency warning system, the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
During testing in the capital, loud monotonous signal sounds, voice messages about the testing and the national anthem of Ukraine will be played.
So, residents of Desnyansky and Dneprovsky districts are asked to remain calm during testing. Such measures are necessary to improve the warning system.
Important! In the event of a real air threat, the siren will be heard without a voice message about testing.
Israeli warning system to be tested in Kyiv
Recently, Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk said that they plan to test an Israeli early warning system for the approach of drones and missiles in the capital of Ukraine.
According to Korniychuk, now the air alert is activated in all northern regions at once, as soon as Russian planes rise in Belarus. Meanwhile, Israel has powerful radars that can be used to determine exactly where a missile is flying.
Thanks to this, the siren turns on sectorally in a certain place. A special signal is also triggered, which indicates how many minutes the population has to go to the shelter.
