Sikorski said Poland supports Ukraine's accession to the EU, but there are certain requirements

Negotiations with Ukraine are becoming more complicated due to pressure on Kyiv.

Poland supports Ukraine's accession to the EU, but has its own demands on Kyiv along the way.

This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, referring to RMF 24.

“We want to maintain the support of both sides of the political dispute in the United States over the alliance with Europe, support for Ukraine, and the physical presence of American troops in Poland,” the politician said.

He noted that negotiations with Ukraine are becoming more complicated due to the pressure that is allegedly being put on the country. In particular, he said: “It feels good at sea, a little worse on land. We support Ukraine, but, of course, we have our own demands, as is the case between neighbors.”

Recall that Sikorski proposed transferring Crimea to a UN mandate and postponing its “belonging” for 20 years, which drew criticism in Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry said that the territorial integrity of Ukraine is not subject to discussion, and the Mejlis called this proposal unacceptable. Sikorsky later explained that his statement was hypothetical.
