Signs that your personal data may have been

During the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous online scams have intensified. In this regard, the personal data of users began to “merge” more often than before.

Maria Volgina, an analyst at Jet Infosystems, spoke about how to recognize a “leak” of your personal information and how to protect yourself from this.

According to the specialist, the most obvious way to track unauthorized access to your accounts is to periodically check messages from social networks and services. They are usually configured in such a way that they notify the user about logging into the account from “suspicious” devices – devices and locations on which you were not previously seen, writes Prime.

Another sign of data leakage may be too weak a password. It is especially dangerous to use the same simple password on several accounts in different services at once.

As for the actions when your data was stolen, then the expert recommended first of all to minimize the possible damage. To do this, you can contact the support service of the compromised platform and change the password. If the bank data has “leaked”, then it is imperative to block the card.
