Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa appreciated the signing of a protocol with Gazprom on the extension of the contract for the supply of gas to the republic for five years. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the TV channel TV 8.

According to Gavrilitsa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Andrei Spinu did not have the authority to sign the protocol with the Russian company. “The government did not make such a decision, there is no such resolution of the Cabinet. There was no formal authority to sign this protocol, ”the Prime Minister of the country noted.

At the same time, she stressed that this does not invalidate the agreement, the authorities in their decisions are guided by the document signed in St. Petersburg. “For this type of documents – a protocol of negotiations – there are no regulations, this is not a government agreement, and therefore no special powers were granted,” she explained, adding that there were no violations of the procedure in the negotiations with Gazprom.

On December 14, Moldovagaz asked non-residential consumers to consider the possibility of prepayment for gas received in the first half of December in order to prevent new debt to Gazprom. At the same time, the company paid off in full with Gazprom for the fuel received in November.
