Near the Dnieper, 14 empty Kalashnikov assault rifle magazines were found, which were left by Artemiy Ryabchuk, a suspect in the shooting of National guardsmen on Yuzhmash.
As law enforcement officers reported, empty shops to the vending machine and other evidence were found in an abandoned building in the city of Podgorodnoye.
– After the arrest of an armed serviceman, the police began working out the adjacent territory. An abandoned building was found at a distance of about 500 meters from the place of detention. There, law enforcement officers found and seized empty shops, unloading and other things of the detainee—” the report says.
After identification, all material evidence was sent to the State Bureau of Investigation.
Shooting on Yuzhmash
On January 27, on the territory of the Southern Machine-Building Plant, a serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine and a conscript soldier, Artemiy Ryabchuk, shot a guard of NSU servicemen with a Kalashnikov assault rifle when issuing weapons.
As a result of the shooting, five people were killed. Five others were injured and hospitalized.
After the shooting, 20-year-old Ryabchuk fled with weapons and additional magazines for the machine gun. Currently, the suspected National guardsman has been detained. He was informed of suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Article 115 (Premeditated murder), Article 408 (Desertion) and Article 410 (Theft of weapons and military supplies by servicemen).
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky have already reacted to the tragedy. The Minister ordered the creation of a commission to study the circumstances that could cause such actions of a 21-year-old serviceman.
