Russian light amphibious tank “Sprut-SDM1” was tested in the Black Sea. This was shown on video.
The developers of the Sprut-SDM1 say that this is the world's only light amphibious tank. The tests marked the first phase of the vehicle's offshore testing. They confirmed that the combat vehicle can be transported by large landing ships. The tank itself showed high navigability.
The second stage of inspections will soon take place, during which the work of the 125-mm 2S25 cannon will be assessed in calm conditions and in rough seas up to three points. In the fall, the car will be tested in cold conditions.
Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes that Sprut-SDM1 is not inferior in terms of firepower to the T-80, T-90. In terms of mobility on land and water, it is on a par with the BMD-4M.
