Shoigu revealed details of missile launch from the submarine “Vladimir Monomakh”

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu disclosed the details of the launch of Bulava ballistic missiles from the Vladimir Monomakh submarine in a report to the country's President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports citing the Defense Ministry.

The minister reported to the head of state on how the training in the management of strategic offensive forces had passed. It is reported that during it “the strategic missile submarine Vladimir Monomakh of the Pacific Fleet from a submerged position fired a salvo of four Bulava ballistic missiles at a range of more than 5.5 thousand km from the Sea of Okhotsk.”

The training was attended by the so-called “strategic triad” of the Russian Armed Forces: nuclear submarines, strategic bombers and the Yars mobile ground-based missile system.

The video of the launch from Vladimir Monomakh was released earlier on December 12. The launch of Yars was shown on video three days earlier – on December 9.
