Shoigu imagines that Russian air defense “shot down” 37 Ukrainian aircraft in a month.
The Russian Ministry of Defense managed to calculate how many days it would take for air defense forces to destroy Western F-16s, which Ukraine has not yet received. The department said that the fighters were “enough” for only 20 days.
Such a ridiculous statement was voiced by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a meeting on Wednesday, November 1.
Moreover, the Russian minister imagines that the air defense “shot down” 37 Ukrainian aircraft and 6 ATACMS missiles in a month. Where Shoigu got such figures from, he did not prove.
“Over the last month, air defense crews destroyed more than 1,400 air attack weapons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including 37 aircraft and 6 ATACMS missiles. That is, with such air defense work, they will be destroyed in about 20 days,” he is sure.
Note that Ukrainian pilots began training on Western F-16 fighters in May 2023, and recently in the United States. As the Air Force said, the first fighters may appear in Ukraine in the spring of 2024.
