Former football player of the Russian national team Roman Shirokov pleaded guilty in the case of beating up referee Nikita Danchenkov during a match of amateur teams. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the athlete's lawyer Vadim Lyalin.

Lyalin said that Shirokov is asking to consider the case in a special order. Lawyer Alexander Ostrovsky, representing the interests of Danchenkov, in an interview with Sport24 opposed this initiative. “This issue is closed with our refusal.
