In the Norwegian Sea on July 1, 2024, during testing in the water area, a modernized one was damaged Russian deep-sea vehicle “AS-36”.
This is reported by Main Intelligence Directorate.
It is noted that the carrier of the AS-36 was the rescue ship of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation “Mikhail Rudnitsky”.
“At the moment of launching the deep-sea vehicle, the crew of the Rudnitsky lost control, which led to a collision between the hulls of the ship and the AS-36” , the message says.
As a result of the incident, the Russian deep-sea vehicle received damage that does not allow further testing.
The Russians are currently assessing the damage and time required to repair the AS-36.
