The situation in Mariupol and on the outskirts remains difficult, but the Ukrainian military is adequately holding the line.
With such a video message on the afternoon of February 26, the mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boychenko, made a speech.
He also reported on the number of destroyed infrastructure facilities and injured residents as a result of Russian shelling.
Yesterday (February 25 – Ed. ), as a result of shelling by Russian artillery, residential buildings on the Left Bank were destroyed. There are wounded among the civilian population. School 48 was on fire yesterday. Unfortunately, now we are stating a sad fact – the number of wounded is growing every day, today it is 58 people receiving all the necessary medical care. There are no threats to their life yet.
The Mayor of Mariupol once again stressed that Ukraine has not declared war on anyone and has not invaded foreign territory. As of 15.00 on February 26, the village of Sartana suffered serious shelling of the Russian Federation. It is 16 km from Mariupol.
Vadim Boychenko noted that since the beginning of the war with Russia, all utilities have been working effectively in the city.
Concerning water, heat and electricity supply. We know that regular shelling of our power plants continues, as a result of which supplies are cut off. Partially, this happened in the Levoberezhny and Kalmiussky districts of the city. To return electricity to people, we are waiting for a ceasefire.
In addition, the mayor of Mariupol assured that during the shelling, the work of transport is suspended. All critical services are coordinated.
