The girl survived real hell and says that the monsters killed her soul
There are a growing number of stories from victims of the Hamas attack on Israel. Mai Hayat, who worked at the bar at the festival at Kibbutz Reim, shared her story. Fortunately, she managed to survive.
Ynet writes about this.
As it became known, Mai’s friend named Liron was killed by terrorists, and the girl herself was captured by militants for abduction in Gaza. The girl could have run away.
Run away and pray
Mai recalled the events of what at first glance was an ordinary morning on October 7th. He and a friend were walking to their trailer to get coffee when suddenly a rocket attack began. They wanted to wait it out and go home.
“Suddenly my friend Bar called and said that they were being shot at on the road, Liron and I ran to the police to ask for reinforcements for the people whom They were firing, but quickly realized that there were terrorists everywhere. There was complete chaos all around...,” he says. girl.
The girls hid in the police command post and sat with the others on the floor. Everyone behaved differently: some cried, some screamed, some panicked, others sat silently.
“I began to hug those who were crying and could not breathe, and Liron helped the wounded,” noted Mai.
All this time, shots were heard outside. They became clearer and more audible, Mai says, so the police took up arms to be on guard.
Looking at each other in fear, they said, “Attack,” and then returned to us and shouted: < strong>“Pray and run.”Then the police went outside – but immediately died one after another. The terrorists fired a burst of fire behind the police checkpoint, then silence reigned for a moment.
Liron and I had already managed to reach the field. I ran a little ahead, and when I looked back, I saw that Liron was dead,” shared Mai.
There were other people around, everyone ran as hard as they could, reached an abandoned ambulance and disappeared behind it . Shots were heard from all sides.
“One guy shouted to us: “Run here quickly, it’s safer here.”I rushed to him, the rest remained in place. We ran further with him – and soon we saw an approaching car. It was one of the guys with festival. “Get in quickly, maybe we’ll break through,” he said. We got into his car,” she said.
He drove out onto the road and suddenly they started shooting. The driver turned around and drove back into the field, but the car got stuck in the sand. The shots did not cease for a moment.
“We jumped out of the car, the driver soon disappeared from sight. We were left alone with this guy again. We continued to run away. He saw a hole, jumped into it, held hands and began to beg for salvation. I said: “You know the stories about The Holocaust, when people pretended to be dead and no one paid attention to them? Let's try it too?” He sprinkled sand on us, and we lay there in silence for about an hour until we heard footsteps approaching. All this time we prayed that we would be “carried away,” says the girl.
Unfortunately, this did not happen. The girl and the guy were found by the Hammas men. There were 8 militants. Mai was sure that she would now say goodbye to her life.
“But they pulled us out of the hole, took our phones and everything in our pockets, and said on the radio: “We have captured two more.” One of the terrorists spoke to me in Arabic, but I told him that I didn’t understand anything. I didn’t scream, I didn’t behave aggressively, I was overcome by apathy. This “Hammas man” put his jacket on me, while the others looked at me because I was wearing a short top. The kidnapper put a cap on my head and took my hand. “He was holding a rocket in his hand, and in the other – my hand,” Mai recalled with horror.
At one point, the girl noticed that the militants were looking for something in every corner. They needed cigarettes and drinks. Mai it seemed that she needed tohelp them with this and was also looking for the right things.
“I didn’t try to resist. I was just petrified. The guy who was with me whined and begged for his life, crying. I told him: “Don’t cry, it’s annoying them, everything will be fine.” At first he listened to me. The terrorists were coming who one with a knife, another with a hammer.
One threatened to kill her, the other let her go.
She was left alone with these monsters. One approached Mai hit him over the head with a board every few seconds to humiliate him. Another held a knife and waved it every few seconds.
“But this terrorist, who was holding my hand, shouted at them, taking me under his protection. We continued walking and soon reached the car. I decided that if they pulled me away from it, I would commit suicide by throwing myself on something that terrorist who killed my partner while fleeing. But the car didn’t start and we continued to leave,” Mai recalled.
The same terrorist with a knife told the girl: “If you try to run away, I will kill you, like I killed your friend “. She continued to stand. Instead, the terrorist who was defending her suddenly said: “Go.”
“I ran, looked around and saw that no one was taking aim. I rushed out of there like crazy. I ran to the festival stage and climbed under it. Next to me there were three bodies, all covered in blood. I smeared myself with blood flowing from the body of one deceased , and lay there for three hours, afraid to breathe or move.
Three hours lasted an incredibly long time. Mai was sure that only one of all the festival participants remained alive.
“And suddenly I heard Hebrew. I screamed “Save me!” These were our soldiers. They picked me up from the ground and took me to a trailer with surviving paramedics and other people,” she noted.
There was shooting all around. Together with Mai in the trailer, thevictims were sitting in this form, she emphasizes, about which It’s even scary to say.
“These Palestinian beasts killed my soul, but I hope that I can heal it. The one who will never return is my friend Liron, my heroine. No one will ever be able to return it to me,” May concluded his story.
