In Kharkiv, children filmed a video of an English teacher bullying a primary school student. After the scandal went viral on social media, she was reprimanded.
The incident occurred on January 31 at secondary school No. 77, but the video appeared on one of the local Telegram channels only on February 8. The next day, on February 9, employees of the Kharkov juvenile prevention got acquainted with the video.
The recording shows that the teacher, outraged by the behavior of a student aged 9-10, grabbed him by the arms and literally dragged him to the center of the class.
The woman did not notice that one of the boy's classmates was filming everything on her smartphone, and publicly began not only to yell at the student, but also to crush him on the desk.
The boy began to cry, but this did not stop the teacher: on the frame you can hear the children discussing that for several minutes she even strangled their classmate.
No one stopped such actions of the teacher, and the girl filming the video quickly hid the phone when, probably, another teacher approached her.
Is the conflict over?
The situation at school No. 77 has already been commented on by Olga Demenko, director of the Kharkiv Education Department.
She assured that the conflict between the teacher and the student was “practically settled”, and the school reprimanded the woman.
– There is an understanding with the parents, who also agree that the child did not behave in the best way. I apologized to them on behalf of the City Council. As a result, the teacher was reprimanded,” Olga Demenko emphasized.
The issue of dismissal of the English teacher was not discussed, since in this situation, according to the official, it would be unnecessary.
The teacher has been working at this school for almost 10 years, and during this time there have been no such cases.
She is supported by other teachers and parents. It was an unfortunate mistake on her part, which, I hope, she will not repeat again, – said the director of the department.
Law enforcement officers have already familiarized themselves with the situation, but it is still unknown whether the boy's parents contacted the police. A comprehensive audit and legal assessment of the incident is being carried out.
