In the village of Trostyanets, Vinnitsa region, 12-year-old Angelina Sobol saved her younger cousin for two years, who fell through the ice into a six-meter hole.

A sixth grader threw an acacia branch to the boy and with all her strength kept him on the surface of the pond for twenty minutes .

In addition, at that time she also managed to explain the way to her aunt on the phone .

– I was very scared. My arm immediately began to hurt, because Zakhar is much heavier than me, and also clothes.

It was very hard. I already thought that I would either follow him into the water now, or just let go of the stick, – recalls Angelina Sobol.

Zakhar himself also demonstrated restraint in a critical situation – he did not panic and fought desperately with his sister for his life.

“I tried to catch my feet on the ground, but I sank even deeper,” says the boy.

No cries for help helped, because near the artificial reservoir, next to which the brother and sister were rolling down the hill, in winter it was not crowded.

Who came to the girl's aid

Zakhar's mother Tatyana Tabachuk, as soon as her niece informed her about the incident, ran out into the street and stopped the first car that came across.

A young couple from Vinnitsa rode in it. They not only rushed the woman, but also the first to rush to save her son.

“They helped to get Zakhar out, gave warm clothes and drove us home by car,” says the mother of the rescued boy.
