Nutritionist Svetlana Fus told RIA Novosti that slow metabolism in people in most cases is not a hereditary factor or a consequence of diseases, but is the result of an improper diet.

She named seven main causes of metabolic disorders: not eating breakfast, not getting enough fluid in the body, eating irregularly, eating too much food, dinner being the main meal, inadequate sleep, and stress. The expert advised people with similar problems to add more vegetables, cereals and fruits to their diet.

“They should make up two-thirds of the diet. After all, these are the best helpers for the normal functioning of the intestines, cleansing the body of toxins and an important source of minerals, vitamins and fiber, ”the specialist noted.

She also recommends drinking more water and refraining from sweets, starchy foods, fast food and convenience foods. According to her, the feeling of satiety after eating should last about four hours, and the number of such meals per day should be three to four. This will avoid severe hunger and, as a result, overeating.
