
With a one-year delay, the KUSAMA: Space Nature exhibition has opened at the New York Botanical Gardens. It features works by 92-year-old Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, created for both interiors and open spaces. According to one of the organizers, Karen Daubmann, “after a tough year, we all need inspiration, and this colorful, fun exhibit provides such an opportunity.” Bright colors, bizarre flowers that even have faces – Kusama's works cannot but cause a smile. The audience's favorite on the very first day was “The Dancing Pumpkin” – a huge pumpkin with tentacles, made by the artist specifically for the New York Botanical Garden.
