Seoul announces third wave of coronavirus
The third wave of coronavirus has begun in the South Korean capital Seoul. This was stated by the representative of the Ministry of Health and Welfare Yun Tae Ho, reports TASS.
According to the official, over the past day, 218 new cases of coronavirus were detected in the city, which is the highest figure since the beginning of August. In total, during the pandemic, 30,017 people fell ill in the country.
The Prime Minister of the Republic Chon Se Kyun, in turn, called on citizens to show responsibility and not hold mass events, including traditional New Year's parties. According to him, the fight against coronavirus “is in crisis.” If it is not possible to reduce the spread of infection now, then “significant restrictions” will be introduced, the prime minister added.
As a reminder, new restrictions have already entered into force in the Republic of Korea on November 19. Citizens now have to follow stricter health regulations.
