The man pleaded not guilty to charges of violating EU sanctions against Russia, the judge also did not see a violation of the law.

B Austria held a trial in the case of a Ukrainian who in September 2023 sent several drones to his homeland and who was accused of selling military materials to Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports this.

According to information released by the court, the case considered on Thursday concerned “a man, born in 1989, for criminal offenses in relations with third countries (sale of military materials to Ukraine) between September 18 and September 27, 2023 in Seitenstetten.” .

As noted by APA, the 34-year-old lawyer left for Austria in April 2022, escaping the war, and worked in the IT services sector in Lower Austria. According to an investigation by the Austrian criminal police, a Ukrainian sold drones purchased from Austria in his hometown.

“The 34-year-old man pleaded not guilty to charges of violating EU sanctions against Russia: through a translator, he argued that deliveries are allowed if the territories are controlled by Ukraine and not controlled by Russia. And this was the case with Zaporozhye, the judge also did not see any violation of the law,” the message says.

The acquittal has not yet entered into legal force, since the prosecutor's office has not yet made a statement on its part.

Recall that one Ukrainian FPV drone blew up an entire platoon of invaders.
