The deputy chairman of the Greek Supreme Administrative Court does not plead guilty to drug possession, but resigned.
Greek judge Panayotis Evstratiu, who until now held the post of deputy chairman of the Council of State (the country's highest administrative court), resigned after being accused of possessing and distributing cocaine.

The judge was suspected of illegal actions after the police detained three foreigners in the southern suburbs of Athens, who were found to be in possession of drugs. They confessed to the police that they had obtained the cocaine from one of the residents of the apartment building, who turned out to be Judge Evstratiu.
With the permission of the Minister of Justice, a search was conducted in the high-ranking judge's premises and found an empty bottle of cocaine. Panayotis Evstratiu was not taken into custody, as there is a special procedure for bringing judges to justice in Greece.
66-year-old Panayotis Evstratiu denies all charges and claims that he resigned solely to preserve the prestige of the court.
