The Soviet Union collapsed about 30 years ago, but despite this, secret documents of its time are still being declassified.
This time, for example, Russian Space Systems released a document describing plans for a Soviet manned spacecraft to fly to the moon.
According to Izvestia, the technical report is dated 1965. It contains information on the formation of the principles of an autonomous electronic control system – with its help it was planned to ensure the launch of a manned spacecraft to the moon.
The crew was expected to include three cosmonauts. The main instruments during the flight were supposed to be automatic. For example, the control system of the lunar orbital spacecraft had to be independent, i.e. without any prompts from the Earth, survey the landing area and choose a landing site.
