Scientists told when people will live for 130 years
Scientists from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne believe that the life expectancy of individuals can rise to 130 years in the 21st century, reports 360.
According to study author Anthony Davison, the number of centenarians among people is constantly growing. This trend is explained by the improvement in the quality of medicine, living conditions and nutrition.
The scientist noted that the study covered centenarians over the age of 105 years. However, it is reasonable to believe that the same factors will cause an increase in the number of the “oldest of the old”, summarized Davison.
Earlier it became known that the coronavirus pandemic caused the most severe drop in life expectancy in the developed countries of the world. A team at Oxford University examined data from much of Europe and the United States and found that the pandemic has nullified long-term efforts to reduce mortality, which has risen sharply for the first time since World War II.
