The year 2020 proved to people that sometimes it makes no sense to make plans and foresee something. However, many scientists continue to make predictions for the future. So, one of them is getting ready for the new “roaring 20th”. Read more about this in the Rambler material.
Nicholas Christakis, a social epidemiologist and professor at Yale University, is convinced that once the COVID-19 pandemic dies down, people will immediately begin to catch up. Christakis without a grain of doubt says that the whole world is waiting for new “roaring 20s”, as in the United States and European countries after the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918.
“During a pandemic, people always become more religious, more reserved, save money and avoid risks. We see all this now. This has happened hundreds of times during other epidemics, ”
– explained the expert.
The professor suggests that in 2024, an era of hedonism and fun will begin – everything that people lacked so much against the background of the pandemic and the stress it provoked. According to the epidemiologist, in 4 years people will miss communicating with people in an offline format in the strongest way:
“People will relentlessly strive for social interaction.”
Some futurists support Christakis. In their opinion, in a few years we will see the flourishing of polyamory and intimate parties.
