British scientists have found out the reasons why such significant changes have occurred on the earth that the climate has passed from a warm greenhouse to a cold glacial one. Research results indicate that the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) on Earth has dropped dramatically.
According to the press service of the University of Bristol, in order to achieve these results, in the study of sediments in the Gippsland Basin in Australia, simulation modeling of the climate was carried out. It turned out that the ocean temperature simultaneously cooled with the land temperature by an average of three degrees. This was due to a decrease in the level of CO2 in the atmosphere.
It is noted that the research results will allow scientists to uncover other mysteries in how our planet has changed throughout its history.
