Scientists have made a petition to the countries participating in the upcoming conference on climate change in Glasgow, according to news.ru.
According to them, the Earth is facing a catastrophe worse than the COVID-19 epidemic. We are talking about the rise in temperature on the planet. According to experts, the consequences will be much worse than with a pandemic that has now swept the whole world. Scientists believe that air pollution from burning fossil fuels causes more than seven million premature deaths every year. As follows from the petition, only in 2021 in China, Pakistan, India, Vietnam, as well as Germany, Canada and Belgium, there were such major cataclysms that they caused harm to the population.
It is expected that due to poor quality food, water and air, there will be an increase in the incidence of diseases on the planet. According to the forecast, the temperature on the Earth in the current century will rise by 2.7-3.1 degrees Celsius at a rate of 1.5 degrees. According to scientists, financing the development of clean energy, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and measures to improve the health of the world's inhabitants will help to avoid a climate catastrophe.
