In their opinion, natural disasters and anthropogenic causes can lead to an apocalypse on Earth, but most likely, humanity will die because of their actions. The researchers added that the death of civilization as a result of an asteroid fall or volcanic eruption is possible, but it is unlikely.
British scientists added that humanity could also die as a result of nuclear war. In addition, viruses created in laboratory conditions can become the cause of a probable apocalypse. According to experts, the slightest mistake can lead to a large-scale spread of dangerous microorganisms.
Earlier, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres named the four horsemen of the apocalypse, the most threatening the world. According to him, these are geopolitical tensions, climate change, global mistrust and abuse of new technologies.
