Scientists from the United States conducted a study, which revealed that such a non-obvious symptom as excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, can signal the development of oncology. This is reported by the Express edition.
Sweating can be a sign of a number of cancers, according to researchers. In particular, about lymphoma, leukemia, bone and liver cancer, and mesothelioma. This symptom intensifies most often at night, experts say.
It is specified that hyperhidrosis appears due to the fact that the cancer that has arisen begins to change the hormonal level. Thus, hot flashes occur in the body and, as a result, the process of sweating occurs.
At the same time, American researchers recalled that usually a person sweats when playing sports, when it is hot or under stress. However, hyperhidrosis appears in connection with infectious diseases, either after taking medications, or due to natural hormonal changes such as pregnancy, menopause, or puberty.
Earlier, the German dermatologist Yael Adler said that harmless changes in the skin could be a sign of dangerous diseases. For example, redness and irritation can be caused by stomach or intestinal problems. “This is a warning symptom that can indicate metabolic disorders such as diabetes as well as cancer,” she said.
On December 30, experts from Cancer Research UK called another non-obvious symptom of oncology. In their opinion, bumps or swollen areas in the armpit may indicate the presence of lung cancer.
