Scientists have learned to determine intelligence by the width of the pupils: the wider they are, the smarter the person

American scientists at the Georgia Institute of Technology conducted a small study with 500 volunteers aged 18 to 35 and found a correlation between wide pupils and high activity in an area of the brain called the blue spot. This is where the neurotransmitter norepinephrine is released, which affects our concentration, learning ability and memory.

For the experiment, a special eye-tracker was used, which recorded the size of the pupils. First, scientists measured the volunteers' pupil size at rest. Then the respondents passed cognitive tests to determine the level of mobile intelligence – for logic, attentiveness, and the ability to analyze. In the end, it turned out that those who scored the highest on the test had wider pupils than the rest.
