Russian archaeologists have discovered two treasures. One is on the territory of the Suzdal Opolye at the junction of the Vladimir and Ivanovo regions, and the second is not far from Staraya Ryazan.
Naked Science notes that the Slavic colonization of North-Eastern Russia took place from the Suzdal Opolye. The treasure was located in a large settlement on the banks of the Nerl River. Scientists were lucky to open it first. Inside they found jewelry typical for the female costume of the Volga Finns. There was also a metal bowl with a loop-shaped handle. She, most likely, was once brought from the Middle East.
The second treasure was found on the slope of a damp ravine. That is, someone buried it in the forest. Decorations and money bars (Novgorod hryvnias) weighing more than two kilograms were hidden. Scientists suggested that the treasure could have been buried at the end of the 11th – first half of the 12th century.
