Scientists have found a plant that can cure coronavirus
Scientists have conducted a study and found that the plant nigella sativa (scientific name Nigella sativa ) can soon be used to treat a new coronavirus infection, reports “360”.
As noted, nigella grows in North Africa and Western Asia. According to experts, in this plant, the active ingredient thymoquinone can bind to the S-protein of the coronavirus and block its path to the lungs. Scientists are confident that this substance can prevent the cytokine storm, which manifests itself in critically ill patients with COVID-19.
In addition, scientists are confident that thymoquinone has the potential to treat common conditions such as asthma, arthritis and multiple sclerosis. Nigella sativa is able to lower blood sugar levels and lower blood pressure.
Earlier, scientists conducted a study that showed that garcinia extract can suppress pneumonia and other symptoms of coronavirus infection. Garcinia is a tropical plant, the fruits, seeds and bark of which are widely used in traditional African medicine for parasites and bronchitis.
