Scientists have found a connection between blood type and dangerous diseases
Swedish scientists have stated a link between a predisposition to certain diseases and blood type. They published the results of their research in the scientific journal eLife .
To find the correlation, the researchers looked at the medical records of five million patients. As a result, they identified 49 diseases that are more common in people with a certain blood group.
Scientists managed to find out that people with the second blood group more often suffer from thrombosis, with the first – from clotting disorders. At the same time, it was found that women with the first blood group and a positive Rh factor during pregnancy more often suffer from hypertension.
According to the findings of the researchers, the third blood group reduces the risk of kidney stones in its owner.
The authors of the work note that in order to confirm the results obtained, they need to conduct additional research.
