Scientists explain the reason for the appearance of signs of life on Venus

by alex

Some time ago, scientists announced the discovery of an abnormal amount of phosphine in the atmosphere of Venus. This substance, according to the available data, could be a sign of the existence of life on the planet.

But a recent article by researchers states that the presence of active volcanoes may be the reason for the appearance of such a large amount of matter. But initially, scientists stated that there are too few of them on Venus for the formation of phosphine, writes Science Alert.

Experts also discovered that when released into the atmosphere, as a result of explosive volcanism, phosphide from magma can be converted to phosphine. This also happens when interacting with sulfuric acid in the atmosphere of Venus.

The researchers have already stated that if phosphine is indeed present in the gas shell of the planet, then this may clearly indicate that it is experiencing an era of active plume volcanism.
