The administration of Ferris State University sent physics professor Thomas Brennan on administrative leave, who provoked a scandal with ambiguous statements about coronavirus infection, writes Newsweek.
It is alleged that Brennan not only denied the existence of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also called it “a leftist trick to enslave humanity.” The suspended scientist's Twitter account found racist and anti-Semitic statements, as well as signs of homophobia. It is noted that the first charges were published in the student newspaper The Torch.
University President David Eisler said in an official statement that the institution “categorically rejects” and condemns the professor's insulting statements.
At the same time, the scientist in a letter addressed to the university said that they are trying to unfairly portray him as “racist and anti-Semite.” He clarified that the conflict erupted after his statement made during a meeting of teachers and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences. Commenting on the incident, he considered it necessary to clarify his position.
“I don't think the pandemic is fiction, [many] people have died. But its seriousness is exaggerated by the revolutionary left in the media and government, as they “will never miss the opportunity to take advantage of the crisis.” If this hysteria is not stopped, it will eventually come to a vaccine, ”he wrote, adding that the vaccine is a pretext for introducing chips.
He noted that he used his closed Twitter account in order to “probe the boundaries”, and from time to time published ambiguous statements, which may seem provocative to some. “I always remove the most controversial ones within hours or days. This was my way of “teasing the dragon”. It had gone unnoticed until now, but I finally got the attention of the “cancellation culture”. I knew it was going to happen – and it’s good that it is happening now, because society is reaching the climax of insanity, ”Brennan wrote.
After explaining all the statements that caused condemnation, the professor added that the whole world “fell under the spell of the satanic global elite.” According to him, the goal of this elite is to microchip all inhabitants of the planet and monitor their movements. “They use the rhetoric of social justice and the abolition of culture not for equality, but in order to blacken and silence anyone who opposes them,” he concluded. According to the scientist, to achieve their intention, the “elite” uses all possible means and tries to keep people in fear.
