Scientist predicted strong earthquakes across the planet
In the next two decades, earthquakes will become more frequent on all continents, said Viktor Bokov, a geophysicist and head of a laboratory at the Gradient Geophysical Research Center. His words are reported by Ura.ru.
Bokov explained that there are two main forms of atmospheric circulation: the “C” form is associated with the Azores anticyclone, and the “E” form is associated with the Siberian. When the meridional processes intensify, there are more earthquakes, especially powerful ones, the specialist said. He noted that in the next two decades, a predominance of these forms of circulation will be observed, which will lead to powerful earthquakes throughout the Earth.
At the faults of tectonic plates, the atmosphere can bend the earth by 40 cm, Bokov added.
