Russian climatologist Vladimir Ryabov spoke about the consequences of states' refusal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
It turned out that this could ultimately lead to a significant rise in the level of the World Ocean in the next 30 years, writes Lenta.ru. Moreover, in 100 years this figure will reach five meters.
Considering that an increase in its level by only a few meters can flood about 30% of the land on which people currently live, what everything is heading towards can be quite consciously called a global climatic catastrophe.
Ryabov also noted that “the most populated territories on the planet” will be flooded as a result. This will lead to a new great migration of peoples in about a century.
