Berlin does not want to risk the possible escalation of the war in Ukraine into a war between Russia and NATO.
Germany is not going to transfer Ukraine its Taurus cruise missiles, does not want the Ukrainians to independently select targets to strike with them, and sending German specialists to Ukraine is unacceptable.
This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, his words are quoted by the German publication ntv.
He said that Berlin does not want to risk the possible escalation of the war in Ukraine into a war between Russia and NATO, so Germany must control where its cruise missiles are launched.
Scholz recalled that Taurus missiles are not only highly accurate, but also have a long range of 500 kilometers. That is why the transfer of such weapons, according to the German Chancellor, “would be justified only if we ourselves determine and set goals.”
“This, in turn, is impossible if you do not want to be part of this conflict yourself,” Scholz emphasized.
Recall that it was previously reported that Germany announced a new aid package for Ukraine.
In addition, we previously informed that Germany made an important statement on the transfer of an air defense system to Ukraine.
