German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confused Moldova and Belarus, speaking during his visit to Kiev. Sputnik Near Abroad writes about this.
The media noticed that after the words about the danger posed by Russian units allegedly concentrated near the Ukrainian border, Scholz misspoke. He said that the exercises with the participation of the military from Russia are now taking place not in Belarus, but in Moldova.
On February 10, at closed talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the head of the Foreign Office, Liz Truss, said that London would never recognize Russia's sovereignty over the Rostov and Voronezh regions. British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert had to intervene in the conversation, and she explained to the Foreign Minister that the regions were indeed part of Russia.
