Germany continues to support Ukraine and stands firmly on its side. This statement was made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a press conference following talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The head of the German government noted that Berlin has supported Kiev “for many years” and added that no country has shown such solidarity towards Ukraine as Germany. He stressed that thanks to German support, the Ukrainian state has become stronger and more independent.
On February 14, negotiations between Scholz and Zelensky took place. According to the Ukrainian president, the issue of building a new European security architecture, within which Ukraine will receive guarantees of its security, has become the main issue on the agenda of the dialogue.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Ukraine on his first working visit on Monday, February 14. After negotiations with Zelensky, he will head to Moscow, where he will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
