The possibility of supplying weapons to Kiev will be considered by the German government later, Berlin does not exclude such a possibility in the future, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a press conference following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It is reported by TASS.
“As for the individual opportunities [supplies] that we have, we are studying all the requests [of Kiev] in a new way, and when the consideration of such an issue is completed, we will be able to say something,” the chancellor said.
He noted that Germany is already providing Ukraine with “the largest financial assistance”, and so far Berlin does not plan to stop there. According to him, Kiev's constant requests for weapons and military equipment “never go unnoticed.”
Earlier in the meeting, Zelensky said that preventive sanctions against Russia are the most effective way to prevent the escalation of the crisis on the border and to force Moscow to comply with its obligations.
