Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky only after he removes Dmitry Kuleba from the post of Ukrainian Foreign Minister and sends negotiators to the Donbass. This was stated by the former head of the Investigative Department of the SBU, Major General Vasily Vovk, on the air of the Nash TV channel, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, Zelensky needs to change his rhetoric in order to organize negotiations with Putin. “Every time we hear a stuffing in the direction of Russia, but we say:“ We want to meet, ”Vovk said.
Vovk also advised the head of Ukraine to send negotiators to the leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik. At the same time, he noted that it is worth recognizing the authorities of the self-proclaimed republics as incapable of negotiating. So, after negotiations with the DPR and LPR, Zelensky will have a “certificate of a meeting” with their representatives, and then the Russian president can receive him in Moscow or meet him elsewhere, the former head of the SBU Investigation Department believes.
Earlier, Zelensky approached his American counterpart Joe Biden with a proposal to organize tripartite talks with Vladimir Putin. According to Andriy Yermak, head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Kiev is now awaiting a response from Moscow.
