Sber has patented a device for controlling a computer with the power of thought

by alex

SberDevices, a member of Sberbank, has patented an ultra-precise wearable magnetometer that allows research for the development of neurointerfaces. It is about controlling external devices with the power of the brain. Also, the magnetometer can be useful for quick and cheap diagnostics of diseases, the search for oil and other minerals, the study of magnetic fields at space stations, the press service of SberDevices reported.

The patented device was created by Alexandra Bernadotte. As noted in the company, the magnetometer is capable of registering magnetic fields of small and medium magnitude, including those emitted by the human brain. The device operates under normal conditions, it can be carried, while the existing supersensitive magnetometers can only be kept in a special room at a temperature of about –200 ° С.

In terms of sensitivity, the development surpasses existing magnetometers “tens and hundreds of times”, while the gadget can be relatively inexpensive to manufacture and cost “hundreds of thousands of times less” than analogs, the release says.

In February, Sberbank presented its own line of smart home devices controlled by virtual assistants. So far, only the sale of smart bulbs and sockets has been launched under the Sber brand.

In July, the founder and head of Qrator Labs, Alexander Lyamin, told Secret what the benefits and dangers of neurointerfaces might be.
