Saudi prince demanded to be punished for the murder of a journalist

The bride of Saudi journalist Jamal Hashkuji demanded that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud, be immediately punished for the murder of his fiancé. The corresponding statement was posted on the woman's Twitter account.

Hatice Cengiz said that bringing the Saudi prince to justice would help prevent similar crimes in the future. “If the crown prince is not punished, it will forever remain a reminder that the main culprit can get away with murder, which will put all of us in jeopardy and become a stain on the conscience of humanity,” the woman said.

On February 26, US National Intelligence released a report in which it accused the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud, of endorsing an operation to kidnap or kill Saudi journalist Jamal Hashkuji. After that, the US administration imposed visa sanctions on 76 citizens of Saudi Arabia, who, according to the State Department, “threatened dissidents abroad, appeared in the murder of Hashkuji, and not only in it.” At the same time, there will be no sanctions against Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

Hashkuji disappeared on October 2, 2018 after a visit to the Saudi Consulate General in Istanbul. He went there to obtain documents that would help him file a divorce and marry a Turkish woman. Turkish media, citing sources in law enforcement and investigative agencies, reported that the authorities have confirmation that Hashkuji was brutally tortured in the consulate building and then killed. In October 2020, the bride of the murdered journalist Jamal Hashkuji filed a lawsuit against the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, accusing him of involvement in this crime.
