The satellite company Spire Global, founded and managed by the Lower Austrian investment banker Peter Platzer in San Francisco in 2012, is going public in New York.

Spire Global is joining forces with Navsight, a so-called shell company (Special Purpose Acquisition Company, SPAC), for the IPO.

More than 100 Spire satellites are currently orbiting in space. The merged company is valued at $ 1.6 billion.
