Maia Sandu beats her opponent Alexandru Stoianoglo and wins the second round of the presidential elections Moldova.
This is evidenced by the results vote counting of 98.69% of the votes.
The website of the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova reports that Maia Sandu is gaining 54.95%, while her opponent Alexandru Stoianoglo has secured the support of 45.05% of voters.
Sanda herself also announced her victory in the elections.
“Moldova, today you won. Together we showed the strength of our unity, democracy and commitment to a worthy future. Thank you to you, dear Moldovans, at home and abroad. Walk with pride – you are freedom, hope and resilience. I am proud to be able to serve you all,” Sandu said.
Sandu will become the first female president in the history of Moldova to be elected for a second term.
